Coming Soon: Pretty in Plaid by Jen Lancaster

29 April 2009 by Melissa

I’ve been a follower of Jen Lancaster’s blog since before her first book was published, though I’m not a very good blog visitor these days, so when I got an email with the link to the trailer for her new book – coming in May – I HAD to share it.

Watch! Then go buy Pretty in Plaid. You know you want to do it.

@Sifill_LDF: Remember that we have never seen the America we’ve been fighting for. So no need to be nostalgic. Right on the other side of this unraveling is opportunity. If we keep fighting no matter what, take care of ourselves & each other, stay strategic & principled, & use all our power.

@StLKirk: @eileenmnoonan Too many people today: "We gave Biden 18 months without a true majority in the Senate, and he did nothing. I'm done." Also, "I've never vote in a state or local election unless it coincided with the Presidential cycle, but Dems are weak."

@eileenmnoonan: This WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING if Hillary had won the 2016 election. SCOTUS operates on a different timetable than the most recent election. Stop acting like it's too much for your brain to get. Elections will always be extremely fucking crucial

@OhNoSheTwitnt: To all the men who told us to not worry, who told us that Roe was safe, who said we were “overreacting” and that everything would be fine, I would like to say, from the bottom of my heart, fuck you.

The clock ticks. The countertop herb garden’s pump grinds: it needs more water. The owner of the house grunts slightly as she rises from the couch, which creaks in response. The faucet gushes into life and there is a soft click as the woman fills a plastic pitcher. The rubber cap of the herb garden […]

If that seems a bit far-fetched, consider: “Ring Around the Rosie” defines the symptoms of the Plague, and “This Old Man” warns of a  is about a pedophile. “Here We Go ‘Round the Mulberry Bush,” on the other hand,  refers to how female prisoners once got exercise.
