I’m adding a book to my wishlist because I saw it on the $4.98 table months ago, didn’t buy it, and it amused me. It’s called Manifold Destiny and it’s all about how to cook on your car engine. While it does not offer tips on how to grill burgers on your billet grille, it goes far beyond the stereotypical turkey roasting to tell you how many miles it takes to cook a fillet of fish, and includes trivia like whether or not the Jaguar was really developed with cooking veal scallopini as part of the design plan – after all, “drive a Jag / eat veal” is a popular correlation. Or not.
Sadly, the book is out of print, but that doesn’t mean I won’t find it on another discount table some day. In the meantime, I’ll have to dream about recipes like “Nifty NAFTA Nachos” and “Cruise-Control Pork Tenderloin.”
As for the turkey thing? I’m pretty sure there are instructions at e-how dot com.
