Caption This?

Posted by on Sunday, 30 December 2007

While watching a movie earlier today, I heard my phone ring, and hit the mute button on the television remote. I was mildly surprised when closed captioning appeared on my screen, as I’d forgotten the mute button did that. It’s what comes from using the tivo and uverse remotes more than the actual television one, I suppose.

I tried to pay attention to the phone call, but the letters scrolling across the television screen kept distracting me. I know I’m in a reading mood, but really, that was ridiculous.

So I did what anyone would do. I ended the call, and returned to the movie.

Except now I’m wondering how to get the captions back without having to hit the mute button.

Your control should have a menu button on it that should take you to where you can turn the captioning on.

    Note the “should”.

Really enjoy your blog, I have loved books since I was a child, blog about books, Squidoo about books, and am trying to get a handle on enjoying eBooks..there’s just something about not being able to turn the pages that is hard to get used to:-)

I should read your “about” info before posting this, but I don’t see it just yet.
Thus my (possibly not relevant) advice. Hand your remote to your child. If he/she is anything like my son you’ll have closed caption in no time!
If you don’t have children, I suppose you could just keep pushing buttons. It’s what I do when the boys aren’t around.
